growyourcharity

As the beginning of 2013, Google and Media Trust launched a website called GrowYourCharityOnline.com that was designed especially for charities to track their analytics.

Charities can get even more volunteers and donations using social media, video marketing, and other tools. GrowYourCharityOnline will help you with this with their FREE tools even if you are not computer guru.

A Review

The site offers a wide range of free tools that you can use:

1. Analytics

It is powered by Google Analytics [everything the same] and can help you to see how many visitors your site has had, what are the most popular pages of your site, and what happened with the users once they visited your site.

You can also add a special code to your donate button and see if your visitors donated or not. With analytics, you can see which online ads are working for your site and which ads must be improved or stopped. Also, you can review the performance of your social media campaign.

If you are a charity, then you will have additional:
Nothing

2. Cloud

This tool will help you to gather all your documents online in one place. It means that you and all of your team can access them from any location using a laptop, tablet or mobile device. It is very useful when you must edit a file with someone else and do not want to send a new email once new edits were made. And, of course, it is free, too.

If you are a charity, then you will have additional:

  • Online collaboration
  • Your cloud storage is 30GB across Gmail and Google Drive
  • 24/7 support from Google team
  • Free version of Google Apps for Nonprofits

3. Socials

This tool offers Google+ social network for your online communities. There is no something special that Google and Media Trust offerfor charities in social area.

4. Video

There is the YouTube Non-Profit program that looks nice. Here is what they are offering:

  • Once you have a video, you can place a “donate button” right next to the video so people can donate immediately without leaving the video channel and wasting time by finding your site.
  • You can connect with other volunteers, charities and nonprofits, which means they can watch and share your video.
  • You can add a logo and brand to your channel for free.

5. Ad Grants

As you probably know, Google is offering a $10,000/month grant for nonprofits. This means that:

  • You can spend to $329/day.
  • Your maximum per pay click could be $2.
  • You can run only keyword targeted campaigns
  • Campaigns eligible only on Google Search
  • And only text ads.
