UK Reseller Web Hosting :(

I have three new UK based clients I am doing SEO projects for. I wanted a UK based hosting company I can host a few sites as part of my Internet marketing work for the new client. This calls for a new web hosting space since I want the sites hosted on servers with IP address range that are completely different from the IP address range my current sites are hosted on so, out I go into cyber land to shop for a new UK reseller hosting account.
I am looking for a reseller web hosting account, not because I want to resell web hosting but because reseller web hosting usually allows multiple domains to be hosted on one hosting account. You can guess where the search started; Google.co.uk.
To keep this post short, I will only discuss five of the companies I considered during my shopping around. They are a mixture of companies found through organic search result and some via sponsored links.
The first company on the three top sponsored links were Heart Internet, Daily and Webfusion.
Heart Internet reseller package is fantastic, I already have a reseller account with them, as I said earlier I wanted an account from a company with completely different UK IP address range. I will recommend Heart Internet reseller package for anyone considering UK reseller account, its not perfect but its much better than most of the other reseller package out there and their support is good.
Next on my list was Daily.co.uk . First, I though about what a prime generic domain name Daily is, I would have expected on of the daily newspapers to be using that domain name. I usually do not like hosting with any company less than three years old. Small less established hosting companies have been know to disappear overnight and left you stranded. Visiting daily.co.uk I was reassured when I read the about us page and found out the he guys behind it were the guys behind a company I have hosted with in the past: Magic Moments. I had satisfactory service from Magic Moment so I forgive Daily.co.uk for being a young hosting company, thinking that the people behind it are more than three years old in the Industry, I think they were one of the pioneers of low cost web hosting in UK.
Daily.co.uk reseller package was fantastic price wise and all the stuff that comes with it, you even get 6 months free hosting if you pay for 1 year in advance. Not only the package was good, their support was fantastic as well. I tested the support over two day, they promise to get back to you within 4 hours, most of the time they get back to me within the hour.
One bid disadvantage f daily.co.uk reseller package for me was the fact that you have to transfer you domain name to their IPS tag. If you have a TLD domain, you have to transfer to them as well. For me, this was the straw that broke the camel’s back. A decent reseller account should give you the freedom to register you domain at a company of your choice, should not force you to transfer your domain to the hosting company. I find this to be a huge draw back not only because of the potential downtime that could occur when transferring a domain from one registrar to another but also
I move on to Webfusion. They have a promising reseller package that is well priced. I contacted the sales department to clarify some issues about the reseller hosting package about five days ago, still waiting for response. This led me to conclude that if the sales department cannot even response to sales enquiry in time, I wonder how long it will take the technical support department to respond to support issues.
