<p>After Microsoft&#8217;s failed bid for Yahoo the company seem to have intensified efforts to get more Internet surfers to use it search engine. A rafter of efforts which includes offering  searcher incentives and improving its search technology has been unveiled.</p>
<p>The latest incentive lead user recruitment scheme called  Search Perks, users will get points for every keyword search they carry out.  Once a Live Search user have accumulated enough points it can be redeem for prizes such as music downloads, airmiles and books. The Search Perks program of rewards is only available in the US at the moment. There are limits to how many searches a day will be rewarded.</p>
<p>Live Search users who want to take part in the reward program will have to register. Points is awarded for 25 searches per day, usage of the points is monitored via Live Search toolbar.  Bonus of 500 points will be awarded to users signing up before the registration deadline of 31 December 2008.</p>
<p>In a separate development, Microsoft said its increase investment and recruitment Europe by opening a new European search technology center with hubs in Paris, London and Munich.</p>
