IT Dept V Users how know too much

About seven or eight years ago when I used to be a second line support technician at IT department of a blue chip company, one of the daily nightmare we faced was users who know too much. The less IT savvy users are the best, they just marvel at whatever little new IT equipment placed on their desk or installed for them but their computer or Internet savvy counterparts are a big nightmare. They are usually aware of what the latest technology is and wants to know whey you are always installing slightly outdate software and equipment for them. The popularity of the Internet and the availability of information have now empowered such users even more and bread a whole new generation of them. There is a fascinating article about the growth of this kind of users in the work place today at CIO magazine. The article calls this kind of users and their source of information “ IT department”
