Now and again, search engine optimisation consultants, SEO enthusiast and other search engine marketing practitioners organize events popularly know as SEO contest to amuse themselves, test their skills and experiment to test out effective tools and method that can help attain higher ranking in SERPs (search engine result pages).

One such SEO contest was put together by UK Webmaster World, it was titled SEOContest2008, the word SEO Contest 2008 was deliberately spell without any spaces to make it unique. When the contest started in January 1st 2008, there was nothing on Google and other leading search engine result pages for the terms, as at the time this post was made on the 4th of March 2008, there is about half a million references to SEOContest2008 in Google alone and over 1 million in Yahoo.
