When two rivals challenge one another to a duel, it’s sometimes over a woman, a mater of pride or principle. Pistol or sword is not an uncommon weapon for settling a duel.  But when two search engine marketing rival challenged one another to a duel, their weapon of choice was not pistols or swords but pixels.

When you are out on the Net promoting your site in web directories, one web directories you do not want to touch with a barge poll is Sedir.org. In the first instance, its is more a link farm that an web directory, as if that is not bad enough, sedir.org is run by half crook half conman.

Most web directories states the period your site will be listed along with the fee. Popular web director inclusion periods are either free, free with reciprocal links, one off payment and an annual recurring payment. Sedir.org is the first directory I come across that charges months. Charging monthly in itself is not a problem provided you state clearly that the fee for you inclusion is a monthly fee payable by monthly subscription. But as you can be seen on sedir submission page screenshot, there is not indication whatsoever of what you are letting yourself info, if you are not vigilant, you will end up signing up for a monthly payment which the conman that runs sedir will not refund to you once you realize you have fallen for his con.

To make think even funnier, the payment acknowledgement you get does not have the directories name on it, it has what is presumably the another of the conman’s site called onlythefinesthandbags.com . So next time you are looking for directories to promote your website, please submit your site to any directory but Sedir.org
